Iran Pursuing Dual-use Chemicals that Adversely Affect the Central Nervous System (CNS)

By Sandra Yosepha Levin for REACHING OUT FROM JERUSALEM

According to a report, by the US Department of Defense, 2023 Department of Defense Strategy for Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD), Iran has the ability to produce nuclear weapons within a two-week period of time. Moreover, “The United States is also concerned that Iran is pursuing dual-use central nervous system-acting chemicals for offensive purposes.” (Page 5)

This was also reported by Tovah Lazaroff in a Jerusalem Post article October 1, 2023, six days before the terrible attack on October 7, 2023 on Israel by Hamas terrorists, who are a proxy of Iran.

The October 7, 2023 War Caught Israel Off-guard and Unprepared

This war, which is still ongoing, caught Israel off guard and unprepared. Reservist soldiers who were very quickly mobilized found that much of their gear and necessary equipment was missing from their kits.

Hamas used Flammable Substance that Led to Poisonous Toxic Gas against Unarmed Female Soldiers at Nachal Oz

Some kind of flammable substance was used by the Hamas in their horrific attack on unarmed female Israeli look-out soldiers at the Nachal Oz army base on October 7. The fires from this substance also caused the release of poisonous toxic gas that led to their deaths by suffocation. No doubt these young girls also did not have gas masks besides being unarmed. Tragically, 15 were killed, but six were carried off as hostages to Gaza where they still are to this day.

Israeli Public has not been Provided with Gas Masks since 2012

Also, the Israeli public has not been provided with updated gas mask kits since 2012, due to the refusal of the government to provide funds for this purpose. While some people still have their old unopened gas mask kits, children born after 2012 and new immigrants to Israel do not have even these old kits.

Caution: The atropine injections in the kit that can act as an injected antidote to nerve gas are outdated. The shelf-life of atropine is 24 months and these have been lying around for over 12 years! No one should attempt in any way to use these outdated injections. No one should allow children to play with the gas masks or the outdated atropine. These are not toys. In fact, if the filter is not removed on a gas mask before use, the person may die of asphyxiation as happened to a child during the Gulf War.

Some Kinds of Gas Masks can Protect against Inhalation of Radioactive Fall-out

Gas masks are not only useful in protecting people against dangerous chemical and biological weapons like nerve gas, but some types can also help protect against inhalation of radioactive fall-out from a nuclear device or weapon. However, in case of a nuclear attack or accident, one must also remain indoors for at least 24 hours far away from windows and preferably underground in a sealed room.

Conclusion

The government of Israel should immediately issue new gas mask kits to all the citizens of Israel. Old kits should be collected and refurbished. Everything should be done to free our hostages in Gaza.

You can never be too careful!
